2020 APPLICATION PROCESS:
Direction Through Solitude focuses on improving and changing the lives of teens through mentorship within Fly Fishing, Bikepacking and Backpacking. In addition to teaching the skills necessary to safely explore the outdoors, we also focus on teaching skills relating to character development, self-discovery and leadership.
WHY SHOULD YOUR TEEN BE INVOLVED IN DIRECTION THROUGH SOLITUDE?
On average, teens spend 7 hours and 22 minutes on screen media each day – not including time spent for school or homework. On the contrary, kids are only spending an average of 4-7 minutes outside each day. The way we spend our time translates into our long term mental and physical health. Direction Through Solitude is working to change the mindset of teens in regards to how they spend their time. Through outdoor adventure, mentorship, interacting with friends, and learning leadership skills – Direction Through Solitude works to build a healthy foundation for teens to be happy and succeed in life.
GENERAL OVERVIEW DETAILS:
